Jos Burns Again

I have at least 2 entries on my blog stating that Nigeria is not a terrorist country but the muslim region north of Nigeria continues to make nonsense of my claims. There are loads of groups now on facebook saying that Nigeria is not a terrorist country. But the more some of us have tried to paint Nigeria positive by saying that we are not a nation of terrorists the more some fools somewhere are negating our claims.

There have been fighting again in Jos. Jos again? What is wrong with Jos?

Can the governor of Plateau State give us reasons why he cannot ensure security of lives and property in his domain? Why is there regular fighting in Jos between Muslims and Christians? Are there no permanent solutions to these problems?

Nigeria is not a terrorist country and those who may want to use this ugly event in Jos to say-we told you so-must be told in clear terms that this violence in the North of Nigeria or in the Middle Belts do not define Nigeria or Nigerians.

We are a life and peace loving people. These outbursts in the North is a regional problem caused by ignorance, poverty and brainwashing of illiterates by a few selfish people-usually politicians using religion as a political weapon. I really do not know the cause of the recent clashes but I’ll surely have to ask around and find out what the problems of those fools are.

I remember featuring in a video clip for a group of people who are planning to visit Nigeria-see inserted clip. I promoted Nigeria and Jos especially. So I am really disappointed with the latest clashes. How can these people now have the courage to visit Jos with all these clashes and religious violence.


But then, hey, Nigeria has no ruler and there you can trace the origin of our country. A headless body is obviously useless. It was bad enough with headache, what can one say when the head is eventually off?

Nigerians, please lets save our country..!

We are not terrorists and we are definitely not a nation of violent people. How can we get this message across with all these negative images from Nigeria?

Anambra Election Already on the Path on Chaos?

Fake Electoral and Polling Materials are already in circulation in Anambra States, Eastern Nigeria. This is ahead of the governorship Election coming up in February 2010.

The Police have intercepted some of these materials but who knows how many of such materials are in hidden places at this moment? Now we have blamed the Electoral Commission for frauds in past elections and that is true.

But here we see how some of the frauds are initiated by candidates. If the Nigerian State is well organised, by now we should have been told which of the candidates owned the seized fraudulent electoral materials. Such a candidate should be named, disgraced and disqualified for attempting to cheat.

If there are ways to detect if other candidates have acquired similar papers or are planning similar frauds, we should be informed immediately.

This type of revelation indicates that Nigeria is not ready for true democracy. Nigerian public office holders and seekers alike are not ready to compete fairly for votes. It has never happened before in the ugly history of elections in Nigeria. Candidates always cheat or are imposed on the populace by electoral officers.

It is just too shameful and unbearable that despite our wealth of experience and knowledge the Nigerian political sphere is dominated by stupid candidates and do-or-die politicians.

Again the bottom line is the fact that they want to steal, loot and destroy the country. Otherwise I don’t see any reason why a sane person would want to cheat to acquire a public office.

Public offices are meant for service to the people. Such offices take your time, dedication and selfless efforts. But it is not so in Anambra or anywhere else in Nigeria.

I am still hoping that one day sanity will reign supreme in Nigeria. Indeed it will require multi-faceted efforts and determination on the parts of the people who are still sane and selfless. We are surrounded by too many people whose ideas of public service is nothing but self enrichment which makes the means to such offices not only requiring desperate measures but deadly approaches through the use of violence, assassination and free fight.

If only the police can tell us who the useless owner of the fake electoral materials are..!

Nigerians: We are Captives in our own country..!

Nigeria is trying to shake off the “terror-label” tagged by the US but if you ask me we have more serious issues to take care of on our home front.

I have actually written a piece (yet unposted) to challenge Barrack Obama or whoever gave the tag to Nigeria. I will not dispute the fact that Northern Nigeria is a fertile ground to would-be terrorists but the US and UK are more terrorist countries than Nigeria. I’ll come back to that in another post.

But has anyone been following the events in Nigeria and how a small group of persons have enslaved the rest of us. Mr. Yar Adua is not available and no one else will be allowed to become president.

Invariably we are being told that it is Yar Adua (dead, half dead or alive) OR no one else until 2011. So Nigeria will be without a ruler, leader, dictator or whatever until 2011 or whenever the next election will be. Goodluck Jonathan can be there as a figure head for all this clique of people care!

There was a demonstration last week demanding the end of this nonsense rulership of incapable Yar Adua but if you ask me I think the situation demands a daily and sustained demonstration until the objective of rally is achieved-that is the supremacy of the constitution which has been thrown away for over 53 days.

In one of my post I have described the Nigeria Judiciary as a citadel of corrupt minds. Yes it is! Imagine the judgements and pronouncements that were made this week. The Nigerian Judiciary is a rotten and useless branch of government. One judge wakes up one morning and collects millions of dollars as bribe and tells us afterwards that there is no power vacuum in Nigeria. Only a fool can say that!

My frustration for Nigeria has increased and my sadness knows no bound. When people come to my blog and tell me bullshit about what I write about Nigeria, I get more upset even as I approved their comments. Only a fool or an idiot will be happy with the sad situation in Nigeria. Another fool will expect the rest of us to point out the good things in Nigeria while neglecting the fundamental issues that affect more than 70m Nigerians.

Mr. Aondoakaa that shameless Attorney General is doing all he can to make a fool out of the rest of us. This won’t last long. People like him should remember war criminals. They always pay for their crimes. One day those who are committing these despicable acts will be brought to judgement. The arm of the law is surely short in Nigeria but still I know it will catch up with his likes.

Sometimes I don’t find the words to express my anger and frustrations. We have a sick ruler. He is incapable. Our lives are in coma the same time as his. What is wrong to allow the constitution to takes its course. Goodluck Jonathan is a vice president. He should be allowed to take over so that governance can continue.

However these greedy people who have captured the rest of us as slaves will not allow our lives to go on. They will keep us waiting as they continue to steal, loot and destroy what is left of the weak foundations of our sick democracy.

I am getting tired. When will madness stops in Nigeria seat of power?

Their President is Missing

Mr. Yar Adua who millions of Nigerians regard as their Nigerians is missing. He is not in the hospital in Saudi Arabia as originally thought or reported. So, where is their president?

This is so ridiculous and shameful. The US has just listed Nigeria as one of the countries under scrutiny because of one stupid boy called Abdulmuttalab who tried to blow up an American airliner. Seriously I’m beginning to have a second thought on my support for Mr. Obama.

1 Nigerian terrorist and 151 million people guilty. Mr Obama needs to re-examine his thoughts and actions. Indeed Northern Nigeria is a potential hot spot for recruitment of idle or wasted minds into terrorist network but the more literate south is devasted by this situation. Nigerians should be removed from the useless list of passengers to be “stripped” when flying to the US. All passengers deserve the same treatment.

Anyway how much blame falls on Obama’s admin is another perspective into the entire scenario. 151m Nigerians have been kidnapped and held hostage by a cabal and some gangsters that have refused to move the country forward more than 40 days since Mr. Yar Adua went missing.

Nigeria is a peculiar country no doubts. Our politicians and rulers are more or less idiots and nonentities. If not, how can there be a power vacuum for more than 40 days when there is a VP? They have turned the VP to a mumu. I could throw up reading his new year message! Pray, Support, this, that and all the useless and nonsense statements we’ve heard before. Nigerians need a new way forward, we want a leader and to even think that this entrapped man called Jonathan is the likely ruler in the days ahead makes me shiver. Still I hope he gets the chance and we’ll see where we go from there in 2011.

Many things are wrong and lies and propaganda are flowing freely. Power vacuum remains as some irresponsible people continue to toy and play with our lives. They stole our future and they are about to set the stage for the destruction of the next generation.

If I may repeat (how many times have I done this?), Yar Adua should be left alone wherever he is and whatever he is doing, we MUST MOVE ON.

We are a nation of 151m people and we are currently at the centre-stage of world’s attention as a terrorist nation. Still we have no one to address the issues plaguing us. Their president is missing, no one knows where Yar Adua is!

Maduekwe is giving the US a 7 day ultimatum. Very funny. Where is your president Mr Ojo Maduekwe? Where is the ultimatum coming from and who are you chatting with? Please give me a break. A country without a legal president is a symbol of useless politicians who should be ignored.

I’m sure Obama will listen to you when you tell him where your president is.

A nation in coma: 50 years of bondage and 2 wasted generations

When I wrote Nigerians as captives: 48 years of waste one year ago I was hoping that my pessimism would be overturned somehow. Far from it..! 2009 has gone down in our annals as the worst year Nigerians ever lived. In total, it’s been almost 50 years of bondage, 2 wasted generations and more than 400 billion dollars missing.

It is now accepted that the generation that took over the reign of power from the colonial masters is a wasted generation. Unfortunately they have infected the generation that is after them and it appears the cycle of idiocy is still in motion.

One of the most unfortunate legacies sown into Nigerian politics is the attitude or mentality that if you find yourself in the position of authority or some form of power, you must use that position to steal while pretending to be serving. Ask any Nigerian young man vying for political office what his aspirations are. Young men and women alike have formed the opinion that politics is the quickest avenue to get rich by stealing or just looting. This is one of the reasons why Nigerian politics is full of bitterness and it’s about life and death since 1959.

In line with the above it may be pertinent to emphasis how my generation too has started to waste away. Just recently Mr. Bankole literarily told a colleague of his in the House of Representatives to “shut up and sit down” as the fellow tried to bring up the debate concerning Nigeria’s sick ruler. This means if given the opportunity Dimeji Bankole will gladly become a dictator. In other events Dimeji’s name keep cropping up in allegations of scandal, looting and self-enrichment. My generation is wasting away too. Hope is dim. How sad..!

2009 has ended and Mr. James Ibori will still walk free. This is the height of judicial ridicule. The Nigerian judiciary has become a citadel not only of lukewarmness but also of corrupt minds. In Nigeria, an ex-convict both nationally and internationally became a governor. The man is still free! Is Nigeria not yet a failed country?

Mr. Michael Aondoakaa is still the Attorney General of Nigeria. How do Nigerian diplomats cope among their international colleagues? Even as an ordinary citizen attending an international conference on development in Stockholm in 2002, I was quizzed by a number of participants on several issues. People asked me many embarrassing questions about Nigeria. Some of them could not comprehend why several homes in Nigeria are more fortified than European prisons and 419 activities were common.

Look at David Mark, a military man who served under Babangida. Together they ruined the communications industry. Up to this day no one has explained what happened to my family’s telephone number. These men looted uncontrollably and destroyed Nigeria. They are still in Nigeria and the looting game is still on, at various levels. Nigerian lawmakers now headed by Mr. Mark are blood suckers who assign money to themselves and distribute penury to the populace. Even the lazy executives want to build houses worth billions of dollars for themselves in the new budgetary plans while millions of Nigerians are suffering and living in extreme poverty. No greater scandal!

Head or tail, we, the ordinary people continue to suffer. We can go to hell for all the political gangsters care. Two years after the present illegitimate government was forcefully installed we have found ourselves atthe most humiliating position among the comity of nations. No greater shame..!

Our educational system remains hijacked by government officials who are proprietors and owners of private schools and universities. Public schools are in total rot and states of confusion. The quality of education is low as emphasis has shifted to profit and total corruption. Many of the children of the rich and looters have been sent abroad to school right from elementary schools as revealed recently.

We ended 2009 as a dark nation both literarily and proverbially. Nigeria is generating electric power that is embarrassingly low and ridiculous. The output may be less than 3 000 MW! The result is a state of near total darkness over the country. This is real and the effects on the quality of lives cannot be overstated. The effects of lack of electricity on employment opportunities and economic growth cannot be overemphasized. Infrastructures are commonly lacking and hopelessness pervades the land. Nigeria is in coma..!

We have suffered in the hands of those who used khaki, agbada and violence to recapture Nigeria in 2007. At the moment our constitution has been unofficially suspended with the illegal installation of a new chief of Justice. In the last 5 weeks (Nov–Dec 2009) the man who slowly supervised the stagnation of our lives since 2007 has been missing in action and no one knows what his true situation is. We continue to thrive on rumours and speculations about his health. But obviously he’s in a bad shape and that he has not be removed from his position shows that he was probably a puppet in the first place. The situation confirms the fears in certain quarters that Nigeria is ruled by a cabal and not an individual.

Still, we are being tussled around in Nigeria like idiots, all of us. Daily, we are fed with lies and deceits by those who are power hungry and inclined to evil ways. There is no need to ruminate over the implications of a country’s foremost citizen, legal or illegal by nature, lying helpless in a foreign hospital. We continue to spread all our clothes in the sun. The world is laughing at us and I continue to think about the racial implication of the intelligent question. Something is fundamentally wrong with the black race anyway. Nigeria is the largest black nation on earth. Something is wrong with us. I’m sure.

We are like 140m robots, programmed to fail as a nation but instilled with the eagerness of self-preservation and survival instincts. Another year has ended and our unusual resiliency has not allowed us to figure out how to re-engineer ourselves from our stereotyped siddon-look status into proactive agents that will seize the moment through collective reasoning. Why is it impossible for the rest of us to force justice and fairness on our system? Surely we may not be able to attain a common reasoning. Is that the colonial impediment that I was warned about?

Just when we are still pondering and brainstorming on what we can do to save our nation, the corrupt regime in Abuja came up with a propaganda called rebranding. The regime tried to shy away from the problem of corruption and maladministration. The best Christmas present ever to any Nigerian government was handed over by Nigerian terrorist named Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. In the twinkle of an eye he laid to rest the fraudulent rebranding program that several Nigerians have criticized times without number. He updated our known reputations by taking it beyond our reach or control.

By putting Nigerian on the map of terrorist nations Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab reflected the failure of Northern Nigeria where Obasanjo allowed the likes of Umaru Yar Adua to disrupt the secularity of Nigeria through the establishment of sharia regimes. These treasonable acts provided the basis for the escalation of Islamic fundamentalism in Northern Nigeria. Innocent people are slaughtered routinely across Nigeria no thanks to the failure of the useless government to bring sponsors and perpetrators to book.

Umar Farouk represents the failure of the central Nigerian government. He is a classical example of failure of both the home and the society. He will stay for a long time as the link between two failed generations and an emerging generation of disorientated Nigerians. His activities, though highly condemnable and disgraceful will probably provide the needed reflection and reasoning over some of the problems plaguing this sick country.

2010 will be Nigeria’s year of jubilee. We should look back at our errors and shortcomings. Then we should look ahead-how do we want to continue this journey? The time is now for progressive minds to take the central stage, it is over due. If we must split back to regions, so be it. We should probably not continue to live as strange bed mates where our individual, wicked ambition is to steal from the treasury or be beneficiaries of questionable wealth through friends and families. Do we have a common national ambition?

We cannot continue to rely on our endless prayers from our sinful lips without the corresponding actions. It is a lame approach. Imagine the progress that will be accomplished if we take the necessary actions to define our mode of existence-regional governments or true federalism. Imagine what we can achieve if we ensure that the likes of Ibori and Aondoakaa are allowed to do time with Mr. Bode George. Just imagine the progress and national revamping if we insist on the rule of law, the end of corruption and the end of tyranny. We must define how we want to achieve these goals otherwise we are facing another 50 years that will remain characterised by waste, slavery, poverty and unhappiness under the cabal and their accomplices.
