A Distant President? No, Thanks..!

It is no longer news that president Buhari is incapable of discharging his functions as the number one citizen of Nigeria.

Mr. Buhari will now be leading the largest black nation on earth from his bedroom, toilet or the other room depending on where the information meets him.

A Distant President? No, Thanks..!

Since the advent of the computer age, it has been possible for students or candidates to study from home. Distance learning allows room especially for people who want to work and study at the same time. It also helps some people to study while on various forms of leave from work including parental leave. The benefits of distance learning are many.

Nigeria is adding a new dimension to what can be done at a distance. The president, Mr. Buhari will now be leading the largest black nation on earth from his bedroom, toilet or the other room depending on where the information meets him.

This is an example of arrogance by the clueless ruling party, the APC. It’s pure nonsense.

It is no longer news that president Buhari is incapable of discharging his functions as the number one citizen of Nigeria. It is common knowledge that he is now behind the scene. It is also very unclear who has been calling the shots since he-Mr. Buhari stopped appearing for duties.

As it stands, it is no longer golden that Nigerians are silent and not unanimous on this issue. Since the arrival of Buhari from his treatment at a London hospital, Nigeria had finally come to a halt in terms of formal presidential duties.

The fact the people are not outraged is of huge concern. They have been so battered they cannot even conduct a thorough thinking-that the APC is evil and serving their selfish interests just like the clueless PDP before it. What will it take to see that it’s just the politicians changing sides while the game (oppressing and subduing the people)  is the same?

It will be a pure guess-work if anyone outside of the walls of the presidency can say that they know who has been in charge of Nigeria since Buhari went mute. Invariably that chant about the cabal continues to rent the air across all regimes whether headed by a civilian or a tyrant.

Let us be clear about the facts. President Buhari is an old man. He is seriously sick. Sickness is not only a function of age. Anything that destabilises the normal functioning of the human body can bring about sickness and in severe situations, death. Of all the things that are natural, death is the only one that is guaranteed. Young and old people can be sick and in the absence of a sound mind no reasonable work can be done.

Healthy people have found it impossible to rule Nigeria to the path of development. Whilst they were healthy they spent their time on promoting corruption and supervising the rape on the land and people. How much harder will it be for a man who is very sick and of unsound mind?

The APC perspective of ruling Nigeria is a complete suicide mission. I’m lost for words on what they think about the rest of us. The APC is the new axis of evil in the land.

Ruling Nigeria from Abuja has been shown to be a disaster. It will never work. The situation is laughable and ridiculous when sickness is the keyword even as the entire country begs for revampment and resuscitation.

In line with the facts that mortals can be sick or become redundant due to illnesses, it is now imperative for president Buhari to take a bow and take a rest. In my opinion, it seems that the man is being held hostage. For, I find it hard to believe that an incapable person will hold on tight to the office of the president of Nigeria. Of what use is such a do-or-die motive?

In my opinion:

  • Buhari can no longer discharge his duties as the president of Nigeria
  • Buhari is no longer in a stable condition-he is not strong enough to withstand the rigours of the office of the first citizen of Nigeria.
  • Silence is no longer golden. People must not out of fear refuse to speak out against a remarkable evil deed like the one being perpetrated now by the APC or some invisible forces using Mr. Buhari as their guinea pig or scape goat.

For several months, all that we have read concerning Buhari are attributed to releases by various special assistants. The latest was atrributed to Lai Mohammed stating that Buhari will now work from home.

The undertones are clear and undeniable. It may not be out of place that people are deciding for Mr. Buhari. There is no proof that he had said anything in a very, very long time.

What is the way forward?

If Mr. Buhari is of sound mind, if he is healthy, he has to prove  that he is not been flung up and down or here and there by the parasites and leeches around him. The only way to do this is to admit his incapablities and retire home permanently. He should hand over officially to Yemi Osinbajo so that we can wish him well as he continues to fight for his good health and stability of mind and soul.

If Mr. Buhari does not do the needed handover or if the people around him cannot facilitate this before it is too late, then it means for real that there is no presidency in Nigeria. What we have in that case is the well-acclaimed cabal who continues to capture and ruin Nigeria from one generation to another.

The transfer of power does not solve Nigeria’s problems. The only thing it will ensure is that we do not add one more problem that will distract us further from the gigantic problems that the country is already facing.

Nigeria Under Buhari and APC, A Nightmare

I hope my readers are not disappointed yet that my regular column on NVS is not regular nowadays. I have seen that some people are re-sharing some of my past post. They are old but very relevant because Nigeria is not heading in the right direction.

In recent weeks, we have been puffed with news of monies discovered and recovered from all possible places including an apartment in Ikoyi and some burial grounds. What has the ears not heard in Nigeria? Wetin our eyes never see? We don hear wein, we don see yeye wey dey smell.

In all, the criminals like Saraki and all the thieves in the National Assembly and house of reps remain in power. Criminals are still ruling and the people are doing mumu and follow follow.

Mr. Buhari is hanging on to power at all cost, whoever his advisers are. The sane thing to do is to let Prof Osinbajo do the job for now.

Rather, somehow, some people are still using Buhari to plant Northerners in all the key positions in government. I hate to acknowledge that Buhari is operating a very useless and senseless government. Only a fool will support his recent appointments and the way he has been rolling around prayer grounds surrounded by criminals like Saraki.

This APC government that we supported is a huge joke. It has gradually transformed to the PDP that we threw away.

At no other time is it more important for Nigerians to rise up and take control of their lives than now.

What is going on with the government and even with the EFCC is a huge joke. It is either someone is acting a drama or insanity is overstretched when you think of the monies that were said/alleged to have been recovered from the apartment in Ikoyi.

Maybe the building should be burnt down if the landlords do not know the tenants in the room.

In any case, the most urgent need now is to let Nigerians know who is running the country because this auto pilot is risky and dangerous.

Nigeria: Long Road To Happiness

By Adeola Aderounmu

Which Way Nigeria?

I may be going back to the days of shorter blog entries rather than long essays, or a mix of them depending on how time permits.

It’s hard (after more than 10 years on the blog) to keep writing the same thing about Nigeria. But l won’t give up.

The blog roll will continue.

It’s a long road to happiness for several millions of Nigerians. We must never forget even if we manage to escape the poverty or flee from it. There are souls down there yearning for life, yearning for freedom.

At the same time, the criminals spread over all strata of government continue to steal, loot and acquire wealth for themselves, their cronies and their family members.

the tragedy includes the fact that these criminals are our sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers and friends who the system has placed above the law. They are everywhere and we know their names but we allow them to enslave us, forever.

One of the biggest tragedies of this century, as l have always stated, is the nature of Nigerian politics and its consequences.

That system and the people running it must be uprooted and it seems that the only way forward will be when people of like minds finally break down the barriers of religion, tribal or ethnicity and understand that freedom has no colour or race. It is just a cause that must be pursued and fetched.

It’s a long road to happiness when only a few men and women can hold more than 150m others to ransom using politics as a weapon and the timidity of the populace as a leap into a lifetime of inpunity.

One day Nigerians will rise, and take back their country. It will happen.
