FAMILY STATEMENT.

It is with a heavy heart, and joy at God’s perfect will that I announce the passing on to Glory of my father, teacher, mentor and friend, Mr. Olayinka Babasanya Craig, who went to be with the Lord at 6.00am this morning at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

He was a pioneer radio and television broadcaster, sports journalist extraordinaire and a national icon.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Kehinde Craig, his sons, Mr. Olayinka Craig and Dr. Olamide Craig and his “one and only” Miss Temilola Craig.

I am really sorry about this sad news. Even though I have not seen you for about 10 years, My heart is with you and the rest of the family at this moment. May the LORD strengthen you and everyone at this time and always.

May the gentle soul of Yinka Craig rest in peace. He will be missed.

  1. Yinka fought a courageous battle. With Christ, he won. Bye for now till we meet where there is no pain no tears and no sorrow. I pray that God will comfort those you left behind in their hour of need. In Jesus Name.

  2. Mr Yinka Craig was(and it is with pain that tense is used…) a remarkable journalist whose versatility was never in doubt…from his days in sports reporting until his easy, yet ever so comfortable presenting of NTA’s ‘AM EXPRESS’..he showed an ease in front of the cameras that was simply masterful. He truly gave meaning to the phrase ‘veteran broadcaster’…and he will be sorely missed…..

  10. Yinka Craig – the one I loved to watch on the TV in Nigeria is gone! That hardworking, handsome fluent soft-spoken journalist-broadcaster/ analyst is no more with us. He was reputed to be kind-hearted and one who could not hurt an ant, even when he was stung by the ant. He forgave all! My advice to all the loved ones and admirers of Yinka is that we should emulate his good attributes and be godly in all areas of our lives. Let’s be closer to the Lord Jesus – the great Comforter and Source of joy and life! May the Lord direct, protect, control and richly bless you all in Jesus’ name! AMEN!
