Bukola Elemide aka Asa (Nigeria’s Gift To The World)

By Adeola Aderounmu

Asa is a rare talent, probably the best female musician in the world today.

Nigerians and Africans owe it to themselves to promote their own talents, their anointed brothers and sisters.

Asa’s music is extraordinary. She’s got the voice, the style and the message. You cannot ask for a better package in music.

Asa presents a rare opportunity for Nigeria to make a great export in music, one that can promote beyond what we can imagine now the culture and history of Nigeria. Western Nigeria should be more curious about this talent. We have not done enough to let the world know what they are missing if they have not listened to Asa.

There is no harm if Asa is mentioned in the Nigerian media everyday. This is what the other countries and nations are doing about their talents many of whom are nowhere near the calibre of Asa.

But the world will treat our stars the way we present them.

In a way Africa needs to do better concerning her female talents. We have a way of promoting maleness over femaleness.

I just imagine if Asa would have been nominated for the highest music award in the world if she was an African male. No doubts if she is an American or British female she would have won the most awards in the last 4 years or so.

The world will not help Africa or Africans.

Let’s not forget how CAF and FIFA showed lack of appreciation and acknowledgement for Africa’s finest footballer of all time, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.

We didn’t do enough for Okocha. It was like we betrayed him. He remains the most gifted African player but he was never crowned. We did not fight for him.

Africa is in the hands of Africans.

We have wasted many opportunities. We have lost many talents. Not just in music. We have done so in sports. We are doing so in education, in health and in almost all known human endeavours.

It is up to Nigerians and Africans to carry Asa (Bukola Elemide) to the pinnacle of the global music industry-that is where she belongs.

The role of the Nigerian media cannot be over emphasized.

TIME 100 Most Influential People in the World: Lies and Jargons

By Adeola Aderounmu

I read with dismay the nonsense comments written by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on Goodluck Jonathan. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Almost what Ellen wrote are lies that any dummy can verify. How that beats the TIME editorial beats my imaginations.

In Bayelsa, Jonathan had nothing to show for his time as the governor, just like Alamieyeseigha his boss who was arrested in London but later escaped as a woman. Jonathan’s wife is a well-known money launderer. She could have only stolen through her husband’s access to power.

Under Jonathan, Corruption in Nigeria reached a new height. What is Ellen talking about? What kind of madness has been published in TIME to deceive the world?

Jonathan has almost emptied the Nigerian treasury buying Presidential jets after presidential jet.

Under Late Yar Adua and Jonathan, James Ibori who sponsored their elections as president and vice president in 2007 is a saint. In London Ibori has become the most famous prisoner.

Which corruption is Jonathan fighting in Ellen’s and TIME’s worlds?

It is one thing to say that Jonathan is influential-all Nigerian presidents and head of states who have looted the treasury are all influential-it is another thing to write nonsense to feed the world. It is unacceptable.

Of course Jonathan is influential. Nigeria is probably going to finish under him with the spate of bombings that have turned Nigeria to one of the most dangerous places to live in the world.

Who needs a greater influence?

TEACHERS REWARD IN HEAVEN STILL

BY Adeola Aderounmu

I have followed the Swedish teachers Union/Group asking for more money for the teachers. My conclusion is that people are just generally silly. We complain about teachers, we complain about students and we complain about education.

Yet we put more money into wars than we do into education. Sweden for example will readily assist the Saudi government to build a firearm plant than fight for teachers to receive the same salary as politicians.

Research has revealed that Sweden will suffer a massive shortage of teachers in less than 10 years from now. People are not ready to teach and the incentives are not there.

In a way, this is actually a global problem. Teachers are like Reverends in the olden days but now no one cares about teachers. People look down on them. I am a teacher and I know how this feels.

But we complain about education. Nonsense!

Why can’t teachers who build the nation get more money as salaries than politicians who ruin the nation?

To save the world, government must know that teachers have to be rewarded, and here on earth. The debates have been on for years, and each time teachers are given token or nothing at all. But the chickens are coming home to roost right under our noses.

Teachers all over the world must be rewarded and their statuses elevated. That is one of the ways to make the students respect their teachers and to make them listen and learn more.

Teachers should not be looked down to as poor church rats. This silly impression can be changed with good salaries and massive investment in education. Teachers should become one of the best paid jobs and should not remain one of the least paid.

Unless this happens, less and less applicants will turn up for teacher education and the future of our children will be at stake.

Goodluck Jonathan Disgraced at the African Union Meeting.

Goodluck Jonathan Heading for the Grass?

By Adeola Aderounmu

Mr. Jonathan was more or less disgraced at the African Union Meeting in Addis Ababa on 29th January 2012.
Ghana led a group that voted against Goodluck Jonathan. President Thomas Yayi Boni of Benin was elected as Chairperson of the African Union (29-01-2012).

If Goodluck Jonathan was unsure of his popularity in Africa he just got a straight forward answer.
He is already rejected and hated in Nigeria. He is the worst president to ever walk Africa and he had the guts to want to try to lead Africa.

Northern Nigeria is at war with him and Abuja the capital of global corruption, he should hurry home and defend the people he sworn to defend as written in the constitution.

If not that Jonathan has no shame, how can a man who fails at home try to lead the entire continent. This is a man that single handedly plunge Nigeria into its Occupy Nigeria crises.

African leaders should never again allow a failed leader to lead the African Union.

Today, all Africans have to thank Ghana for leading the votes against Nigeria.

I don’t think Jonathan knows what he is doing.

He has not done anything to reverse the price of petrol and Nigerians are paying double or triple for everything compared to the prices they have before the Christmas of 2011.

Also all the looting in the Jonathan government have not been reverted or cancelled. The man is still spending N3b of Nigeria’s money on food. His allowances for local and international travel exceed N5m daily. Is this president normal? Where is he going with N5 million daily?

Nigerians must thank Ghana and the other countries who voted for the president of Benin. We could have been told that the rest of Africa agree with these lootings and stealing by Jonathan and other Nigerian politicians had Jonathan won.

The message is clear and strong. Mr. Jonathan is heading for the grass and he will soon be there.

Nigerians are suffering and the Jonathans and co are enjoying. This season won’t last. The end of it must come, soon.

What Does Goodluck Jonathan Feed On?

By Adeola Aderounmu

I am just curious and just posted this on facebook.

How can two families spend N2 739 726 per day on food only in a country where more than 100m people live on USD2 per day? Goodluck Jonathan is a BIG THIEF! What are they eating in his house?

What is “happy” about 2012 when people wake up to find out that the cost of petrol in one of the largest oil producing countries is now N150/ liter?

Nonsense and Ingredients!
