Obasanjo’s Medicine: Shake After Use

Obasanjo’s is shaking after taking his own medicine. He will not be canonized. He ran a corrupt government too. If it took him 8 years to realize he also handed over to corrupt people like him then he may have suffered from a form of premature dementia

Obasanjo’s Medicine: Shake After Use

Around 1988 my physics teacher at Festac Grammar School Mr. Olatunji, a civil engineer by training told the class a joke. He said there was a man who was given a prescription by the doctor. So the man went his way, bought the medicine and took it.

After a few days his condition did not improve. So he picked up the bottle of medicine and read the instructions carefully. Somewhere on the bottle it stated “SHAKE BEFORE USE”.

When the man discovered the instruction, he started to jump up and down, whirled his waist and shook his belly at the same time. He wanted to ensure that all the medicine he had taken mix thoroughly inside of his body.

You’re guaranteed of getting wiser for every lesson you attended with Mr. Olatunji in front of the classroom. He told us at that time that with his knowledge and education-he should be sitting on the 35th floor of a civil engineering firm.

But he was stuck with us for a while, teaching and giving us hope for a brighter future. To make ends meet Mr. Olatunji also ran a private coaching outfit popularly called lesson. A very clever man with excellent skills in mathematics, I learnt later on that he found a job outside of teaching. I hope life treated you well, sir!

Now I look forward to reading General Obasanjo’s book. But I have seen a few of the previews that early birds have posted online.

Sometimes in late 2007, several Nigerians started the process of canonizing Obasanjo. It was either he controlled the media or the impatient people were doing an early comparison of his tenure as the ruler of Nigeria with that of the puppets that he almost singlehandedly installed after his failed third-term bid.

Some believed that Obasanjo brought in Yar Adua and Jonathan because he wanted to show Nigerians that they would have been better off with him as a life president. There are still many theories on why Obasanjo brought 2 peculiar political invalids to rule Nigeria.

I am trying to place Obasanjo in the positions of both the doctor and the patient in Mr. Olatunji’s narration.

As the former ruler of Nigeria for a total period of about 10 years, are there pieces of information in Obasanjo’s book that he could have applied in making Nigeria a better place for all? Were there prescriptions he didn’t read out loud when he addressed Nigerians for 10 years?

What efforts did Obasanjo make to minimize corruption under his regime as a military dictator and a civilian ruler? Does he have the justification to accuse other people of the same crimes that he committed? What efforts did he make to stop the introduction and implementation of extreme Islamism in Northern Nigeria?

Why did he employ the services of a criminal in the person of James Ibori to spearhead the change that would have ensured that he ran for the office of the Nigerian president for a record third time?

Then when the third term bid failed Obasanjo oversaw that Ibori continued to drain the resources of the people of the Niger Delta in promoting Yar Adua. Ibori, an ex-convict was almost going to become Nigeria’s vice president under Obasanjo’s watch, a road map that could also have placed him in line to the presidency.

Obasanjo is like the people he criticized in his new book. How did he get Otta back from scrap to a multi-billion naira project just after emerging as the military’s choice in 1999?

What happened to all the billions of naira spent on power generation under his watch? I hope I will read about his shady deals in his new book of revelations because from space Nigeria is still one of the darkest places in Africa today. What about the funds meant to equip the police force that ended up with his family members?

Obasanjo and some of the people mentioned in his book like Atiku where co-criminals at the helm of affairs in Nigeria. They even went a step ahead in their criminal pursuits in the international Halliburton bribery scandal. It was only in Nigeria that the criminals involved in this scandal were not punished. The criminal law system in Nigeria is a huge joke.

Obasanjo can win accolades for his book, for the gladiate contents. He likes to play to the gallery and that sort of excitement is what most Nigerians want.

They want to accept one form of evil above another. They want to agree that Obasanjo was better than Jonathan because the law system in Nigeria does not query, try and send people for prison for serious crimes like state murder and looting of the treasury with good governance as the opportunity cost.

How has the larger Nigerian populace benefitted from Obasanjo’s wit and tricks since he emerged as a PDP politician?

I am not thankful to Obasanjo for his contributions to the misery of the Nigerian life. I cannot appreciate him for his roles directly and indirectly in the demeaning of the Nigerian life.

In terms of establishing institutions and empowering people that will contribute to the progress of Nigeria Obasanjo is probably more clueless than Jonathan.

If the law and justice system in Nigeria are fair, would Obasanjo be a free man or a prisoner today? Who takes the responsibility for the political assassinations under his watch? Who killed Bola Ige? Did he provide the hints in his book?

Obasanjo enjoys having his hands and voice in everything. The preview of Obasanjo’s books that I’ve read placed him in the category of the people I described in my column last week-the people with foolish expectations.

He led a corrupt government and imposed another clueless corrupt government yet he’s out there crying over a foreseeable tragedy. What hypocrite!

In the same vein, when I would have read his book, I might still find it difficult to remove Obasanjo from the category of Nigerians on Lagbaja’s scale of mumuism.

Millions of Nigerians also fit in to the patient role in Mr. Olatunji’s story. They are now jumping up and down and wriggling their bellies because they have taken their medicines without reading the label where it state shake before use. We’ll see where this takes them in February 2015.

Obasanjo knew that Jonathan was incompetent as the governor of Bayelsa. Everybody in Bayelsa knew his deputy was in charge when he was a governor. If Obasanjo was not aware of that then he must have suffered from a premature dementia. If it took Obasanjo 8 years to realize that he handed over to a corrupt government like the one he managed, then he needs a quick help.

Millions of Nigerians were basking in 2011: we are voting for Jonathan, not the PDP. It was laughable, yet very sad to read the collective reasoning of a people drained of both mental and physical strengths. What options were available anyway? An endless dilemma it must be.

It sounded as foolish as when Babangida said he did not cancel the results of the 1993 elections, that he only annulled it. It’s the same rigmarole when he said he was stepping aside when he ought to have been arrested and imprisoned for treason.

It was that fateful cancelled elections that Obasanjo benefitted from. He even campaigned on behalf of the treason perpetrators like Ibrahim Babangida. Obasanjo said MKO Abiola was not the messiah.

Obasanjo’s messiah for Nigeria since 2009 was Mr. Jonathan. When did he detect the truth that now set his wicked mind free?

I am making efforts to get Obasanjo’s books to my domain. I look forward to reading Obasanjo’s explanation as to why he collected the Halliburton bribe.  Also I want to know how much he got. Was it a third of $74m or a straight N27b?

I will like to read Obasanjo’s book so I can mock his gullibility-that at his right and ripe ages in 1979 (Shagari), 1993 (Abiola), 2007 (Yar Adua) and 2011 (Jonathan) he was fooled or he fooled Nigerians.

Obasanjo’s is now shaking after taking his own medicine. Too late I am sorry.

When Mr. Obasanjo is done with whirling his waist or shaking his belly, I hope someone can tell him that some people actually read the labels and instructions on their medicines before they swallowed them.

If he ever gets another chance in his life time, one hopes that he reads the label before prescribing or taking the medicine himself.

For now he should stop crying over the milk he spilled as the search for true and exemplary leaders continue in the rising struggle to liberate Nigeria and Nigerians.

When Our Presidents Are Murderers: General Obasanjo to Jonathan “You are a Murderer”

By Adeola Aderounmu

In his letter, Obasanjo alleges that Goodluck Jonathan is keeping over 1000 Nigerians on his list of ”people to be killed or maimed”.

According to Obasanjo, it is likely that Jonathan is also training his hit squad at the same location that Sani Abacha trained his killer squad as well.

But Obasanjo warned Jonathan using the Yoruba Adage that ”The man with whose head coconut is broken may not live to savour the taste of the succulent fruit”.

What Obasanjo is saying here is that history may repeat itself fatally on Goodluck Jonathan.

I have heard 3 theories about the death of Abacha. One, that he died while having sex with an imported prostitutes. Two, that he was poisoned in Aso rock. Three, that he was shot by an army officer.

I don’t know which of these theories is correct but we all know that the coconut was broken on Abacha’s head. Obasanjo is now warning Jonathan about his killer squad-that the next coconut may just break on his head!

Olusegun Obasanjo was pissed by the fact that Goodluck Jonathan set a murderer free and gave him a royal welcome.

Al-Mustapha was the head of Abacha’s hit squad and he ordered the killing of Abiola’s wife.

But Goodluck Jonathan used presidential powers to indirectly set him free.

Goodluck Jonathan is the WORST thing to happen to Nigeria.

My own reaction to these allegations is that Goodluck Jonathan should be stripped of his presidential powers, arrested and investigated. In Nigeria, the carriage of justice-real justice must start from somewhere and this is a new golden opportunity.

How can you free a murderer in the first place?

Who will confirm or corroborate Obasanjo’s story of a new killer squad?

Jonathan is doing these things because Obasanjo, Babangida and Abdulsalami all got away with murders.

Obasanjo is implicated in the murder of Bola Ige amongst others.

Babangida killed Dele Giwa and probably a generation of Nigerian’s military men.

Abdulsalami has been implicated in the death of MKO Abiola.

It appears to be a tradition that Nigerian’s rulers are murderers.

Obasanjo is exposing Jonathan, the same way he was exposed and nothing happened!

What a country!

Hypotheses Surrounding The Deaths And Diabolism in Aso Rock, Nigeria

I have a strong feeling that wouldn’t go away so I am “forced” to write about it. These are my hypotheses.

I think there is a covenant with some blood sucking gods or ritualists that human blood would be shed to keep the powers that be in Aso rock in Abuja on a smooth sail. This can be interpreted in several ways.

Since Babangida arrived in Aso rock, there has been some “necessary” bloodshed within the ruling family and a sacrificial onslaught on Nigerians.
Babangida has been in the killing business for a long time. As a soldier he may find it necessary to plan coups, execute his enemies and do whatever it takes including sending a letter bomb to an editor in 1986. He could have even killed an entire generation of Nigeria’s Naval entourage in the ill flight that ended in the mangrove of Ejigbo in Lagos.

I would not be surprised if he sacrificed his wife since the days he was in Aso rock only for the woman to depart this world later in a country far away from Nigeria. Who knows if blood pact is what keeps you in power against all odds in Aso rock even when the indications are rife that you run a corrupt government that should be overthrown by nothing less than a violent revolution. Who knows?

Who knows why Nigeria remains a single country when all indications are that the different regions will fare better as separate entities? What forces are keeping Nigeria together with over 100 million people living in penury and extreme poverty while the ruling class remains untouchable and merry-ing daily with billions of dollars?

How can we tell that Obasanjo did not sacrifice his wife? Afterall he also killed an entire community in Bayelsa State. Are these parts of the family and national sacrifices that must be made to keep power at all cost? These hypotheses may sound illogical but they definitely fall in line with a known pattern since the days of ruling from Aso rock.

It is easy to argue that people have been killed in Nigeria since 1959’s violent elections. But the pattern since the arrival of the corrupt Nigeria government in Aso Rock is different and resoundingly similar: kill a family member and kill as many as possible within the country! It sounds like the blood of the dead keeps the wheel of corruption and impunity rolling and then the perpetrators remain above the law. Therein lies the diabolism that reigns in Aso rock.

For all the crimes they committed, Babangida and Obasanjo have not been prosecuted. It seems they will never be prosecuted in their life time because they made the sacrifices-family and Nigerians!

Enter Yar Adua. He had been sick for some time and made it through as the governor of Katsina State. Something tells me he could have made it through the first 4 years of his presidency. But of course a humble man he was in some respect and he decided to take the bow himself. He probably thought Nigerians would let his wife rule as planned (or not). Before his departure he did something similar to Obasanjo by wiping a community in the Niger Delta. These men always made the National sacrifices to keep the blood flowing, to wheel corruption and impunity. My hypotheses continue…

I can make a very strong insinuation that Goodluck Jonathan gave his brother in place of his wife who celebrated her return from hospital with an alleged sum of N500 million. Nigerian rulers are insane.

Goodluck’s brother walked into Aso rock but he was carried out a corpse. Goodluck could not give his wife I assume. But something must be paid to remain in “bloody” power. Maybe I am wrong with my hypotheses. They just would not go away.

But in Nigeria, for the love of power, for the love of money, anything is possible.

Maybe I have been thinking too much, I don’t know. But these things ran in my head at the same time. I had to let them out.

In Nigeria, autopsies are rare. It would have been nice to find out exactly what killed Goodluck’s brother. Was Jonathan’s brother sicker than Jonathan’s wife who said she’d been dead for 7 days and her tummy opened 9 times? Her revelations came after all the stupid lies from her husband and the useless presidential spokespersons. We will never know. In Nigeria, secrets and corruptions go hand in hand.

When Jonathan’s brother died, Mrs. Jonathan was wearing gold. Now they have spent over N500m after this burial, they called it their own thanksgiving.

On the Nigerian fronts, it took a long time before Goodluck Jonathan saw anything wrong with the Boko Haram killings. For him, that is the blood needed to run the wheel of corruption and keep the impunity in his government intact.

Even after the intervention processes, blood is shed daily in Nigeria in line with failure of government and negligence.
So whichever way you look at it, my hypotheses follow a pattern that are arguable but definite.

I could have articulated this essay better. I could have added details, dates and all that but I’ll leave it and move on. I’m just blogging.

HOSNI MUBARAK GOES TO JAIL

By Adeola Aderounmu

Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak will serve a life sentence. He is already 84, almost having nothing to lose.

Mubarak was accused to ordering the killing of protesters in 2011. It was actually very difficult to prove this case against him. The Police could have acted on its own. But Mubarak was in charge and the bulk stops at his desk.

Mubarak is ill, suffering from a heart condition. It would not be a shock if he is released on compassionate ground or if he is still allowed to continue to live at the Military Hospital.

Mubarak was a dictator. I don’t have enough knowledge to access his regime and I have refused to read Wikipedia for any details.

I am just going to complete this essay as an ignorant observer of Egypt.

Egypt remains a hot destination for tourists. Many Europeans will still spend this summer in Egypt. Therefore there must be something that Mubarak did well as a dictator or killer of protesters.

There must be something about Egypt before, during and after MUBARAK that makes it a wonderful place to live and visit.

Egypt remains a great footballing country. The images of Egypt that I see and observe are wonderful and delightful.

My own brother visited Egypt a few times as a tourist and businessman. It must be great there.

Usually I write to compare situations around the world with the country where I was born, that is Nigeria.

In Nigeria Mubarak will still be a hero like Babangida. Babangida killed several people including Dele Giwa and a generation of Nigerian young and promising military service men. Babangida rolled out the tanks in 1993 and Killed Nigerians protesting the annulment of the Presidential election won by MKO Abiola.

Babangida in one swoop stole more than 12 billion dollars during the Gulf war.

Today he is still a hero. He has never been convicted or imprisoned for any of these crimes.

When I watched the trial of Mubarak, I thought to myself: what if the Egyptians visit Nigeria and discover that Nigeria is covered by darkness because of the lack of electricity?

If they come, the Egyptians will see that there is no public education in Nigeria because nobody cares if the poor man and his children receive any education.

What if the Egyptians come to Nigeria and see that Nigerian hospitals are big jokes and that infrastructure in Nigeria is dead.

Nigerian roads are prone to accidents and they are among the worst in the world.

In Nigeria the politicians are thieves and they are wicked.

This week in Nigeria the heartless regime that continues to loot and steal decided to increase the price of something it is not providing. Nigerians will pay more for electricity while they live in darkness.

My conclusion?

If the Egyptians come to Nigeria they will fish out all the past and present rulers of Nigeria and tear them into pieces. This group includes the present president, all his serving committees, all the governors and all the people occupying government houses across Nigeria.

The Egyptians will take them out and sentence them to life imprisonment or to death. They are worse than Mubarak. They are the heroes of Nigeria. What a world!

BOKO HARAM: Who are the powers behind?

By Adeola Aderounmu

There are insinuations in Nigeria that General Ibrahim Babangida, General Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and even ex-Gov Shekarau are some of the brains and sponsors behind Boko Haram.

In Nigeria anything is possible.

I cannot state for sure that this insinuation is true or false but someone described it as an intelligent report on the security situation in Nigeria.

The unconfirmed report even went ahead to state that the Boko Haram militants have received training in Sudan, Saudi Arabia and Syria. The weapons are also suggested to have come from these named foreign countries.

At Nigeria borders weapons have been intercepted several times but no one knows where these weapons end up in the end. It is not impossible that the weapons get to their destinations anywhere due to the corrupt nature of the Nigerian public service system.

What do Nigerians want to do with their lives and existences amidst the certainty that it is now impossible to continue to pretend that Nigeria is one country. The failed country called Nigeria has never been one in principle and it will NEVER be one country. NEVER!

So maybe one day the sensible people will wake up from their slumbers and rescue their heritage and regions from the claws of the larger evil Nigerian government and useless existence as a failed country.

That day they may begin a new chapter in their own histories and make something out of the ruins that is left so that their children and children’s children who have a place to call home. Right now Boko Haram has made Nigeria a more complicated hell on earth.

The rumour about the leaked intelligent report that General Ibrahim Babangida, General Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and even ex-Gov Shekarau are some of the sponsors of Boko Haram may just be true. Anything is possible in that country-Nigeria.

True or false, it would be interesting to see what Jonathan (the man who is always drinking alcohol) does in the days now following the leaked intelligent report.
