The Nigerian Military Vs The Rest Of Us In A Pseudo-democracy

(A recent tv-program claiming that there is starvation in parts of Africa including Nigeria. This is the type of shame that Nigerian politicians bring to their families, fathers and mothers and the rest of us. How can a country so blessed be populated by starving children and jobless people?)

There are pockets of problems in Nigeria. The most visible in recents days is ongoing in the Eastern part of Nigeria as the Nigerian Military started show of might in some parts of Nigeria.

According to the military, these exercises are staged in a number of geographical locations in Nigeria. There is no external aggression against Nigeria so it suits the Military to oppress the civilians/citizens.

Sadly the exercise in the East is causing commotions and deaths because of the clashes between the Nigerian military and the members of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB).

There have been a lot of arguments back and forth on who is to blame for the deaths and clashes. One person that l know stated that two wrongs does not make a right. Oh well, two shades of madness does not make a sense to me as well.

If your enemy is planning to roast you, you do not rub palm oil on your body and then start dancing near the fire (or python). At the same time, the one who does not let a sleeping dog lie would be bitten and may die of rabies.

In the year 2017, there are so many options open to agitations bothering on secession and independence. In the 1990s we saw the effect of war and stupidity as Bosnia and other nation went up in flames because people refused to talk. Way back in 1967 Nigeria herself went up in flames and the rest is history. How easily can history repeat itselt? Too easy as humans never learned. Humans are passionately foolish.

For BIAFRA, my opinion is that IPOB and MASSOB need to find a common ground as a starting point.

For as long as IPOB and MASSOB have differing views on how to achieve the BIAFRA AGENDA, the Igbo people are just deceiving themselves. Secondly, and after they have achieved a common front, they now need to get the support of the generality of the Igbo people including their politicians at home and at Abuja.

In order to be qualified for REFERENDUM, the Igbo Nation, as in all of Eastern Nigerian must be united in seeking the referendum in which those in support and those against BIAFRA can make their votes count. In asking for a referendum, it does not mean that all Igbo people are in support of BIAFRA, it only means that they will have a chance to test the popularity of the opinion.

A Referendum will not be achieved by violence and hate speech for which Nnamdi Kanu is a champion, sadly. A referendum will never be achieved as long as Igbo Ministers and Igbo politicians in Abuja are rubbing minds and asses with the rest of the country. It is not as if they need to come home to settle to Biafra, but their inputs are needed in achieving and testing the referendum. A majority outcome is the future of the Igbo Union.

Not even getting to that point makes a useless mess of the agitation of either IPOB or MASSOB. A war will consume them like a thuderous fire no matter the external or internal support. IPOB must understand the dictates of war. It is beyond street violence as the Nigerian Military as shown by their tiny operation in the East in recent days.

True it appears the Nigerian Military is controlled by the North. True, it appears that Buhari is a sectional ruler and a ruthless, thoughtless dictator… THEREFORE not playing by the rules of achieving a referedum makes it easy for him as a ruthless ruler to excercise military might.

To confront any ruler or government in Nigeria, any region or section that is willing to secede must first follow the books. To go to war with Nigeria means that the government of Nigeria have refused to listen to the voice of reason after every requirement for referendum or eventual secession have been achived. It would then be logical to accuse the Nigerian government of genocide or tribal killings (for which the military is already an expert, so don’t get me wrong). I am not in support of any military action or excercise in any zone in Nigeria. It is absolute nonsense and a provocative act.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. In my opinion a referendum is the way forward for the BIAFRAN AGENDA. It will be a very, very long and unwindy road to get to the point of a referendum.

Violence, war and forming local militias is not the way. History shows us that lives will be lost, the innocent will be massacred and the purpose will never be achieved. Only the manufacturers of weapons will smile to the banks.

So again, let IPOB or/and MASSOB come to the table and forge a way forward. Greed and thirst for power may eventually suffocate both groups. Get your people together, not necessarily because you think you are right to form BIAFRA but to vote against or for your call for the republic of BIAFRA.

Let everyone be prepared to accept the result of the referendum and let’s see where we go from there. Remember that as long as your Abuja politicians and state governors are singing a different tunes, then there will be no referendum, talk less of a BIAFRA that many people around the world belived died in 1970.

I am not an expert on this issue, l am just a blogger offering my opinion because l would hate to see a people suffer genocide in the hands of the one-sided Nigerian military.

However l am super convinced that if it were to be a country-wide revolution where all the people in the country (more than 150 m) pour to the streets at the same time for several days or weeks, the government will be totally crippled and changes including the emergence of new nations or the re-establishment of the old ones will emerge.

I amd also thinking about what will become of the IBADAN DECLARATION in the coming days. I wonder if it was an empty show where some people are also seeking for attention.

I am thinking loud about the major problems in Nigeria, a country so blessed yet so deprieved because of the greed of a few people who sadly are still in power no matter the political affiliation.

I am thnking about: IPOB, MASSOB, ODUDUWA REPUBLIC, AREWA YOUTH, MIDDLE BELT REGION, MEND, HERDSMEN AND BOKO HARAM.

There is an urgent need for a political solution. With or without the IPOB uprisings, this country cannot hold for too much longer. We postpone the major evil days while the people experience taste of evil daily. This is not sustainable.

These are just my my unedited random thoughts in these days of uncertainty, lies, power vacuum and a propaganda machine in the hands of a very wicked style of government. The Buhari led APC government now ranks among the most useless government in Nigeria. It is the most hypocritical in the history of Africa. It is basically at par with the Jonathan government with regards to the number of criminals in its ranks from the president to the senate leader to the governors and the local government. It’s the same old sh*t.

Toying with this type of heartless criminals the way IPOB is doing is mainly suicide. There must be a way round…

Faleke’s Trauma: APC’s Dictatorial Tendencies Unfold

The lack of common sense within the APC is tragic. Where is the change? Where do we go from here?

Faleke’s Trauma: APC’s Dictatorial Tendencies Unfold

Sometimes when you hear about certain things happening in Nigeria and especially those things that emanate from the political circles, you get so shocked that you begin to wonder if these people running Nigeria have any brain cells at all.

I have seen many comical pictures on the social media where different Nigerian rulers or presidents have had their heads replaced with coconuts.

On a closely look, those comical images are near to reality for Nigeria’s political class.

So Audu Abubakar died. Some have called for autopsy reports to ascertain if he was murdered or if he died of natural causes. I think his family has more say on what path they choose.

Ordinarily one would have thought that succeeding or replacing Audu Abubakar ought to be common sense. Mathematicians will call it logic.

Late Audu’s deputy Mr.  Faleke should step into his shoes and finish the race for the his late boss and definitely for his party-the APC.

As I understand it now, there are about 49 000 votes up for grab.

Bu what has the APC mandate under Mr. Buhari done?

They have brought out a man from the PDP to be the replacement for APC’s Audu Abubakar. Yahaya Bello campaigned for Idris Wada after he lost the APC governorship ticket. They have now brought him back to the APC and chose him ahead of James Faleke.

Let those who have ears hear now, the trouble in Kogi will most definitely add to the already brewed troubles in Eastern Nigeria and the war in Northern Nigeria which will make Nigeria one of the most unstable and most unpredicatable places on earth.

James Faleke has gone to court. The cases may draw for a long time and they may stall the proposed conclusion to the elections.

The constitution of Nigeria is already messed up on this matter. There are as many opinions as contributors.

I learnt INEC which was supposed to be an independent body even ran to the Attorney General for suggestions. That way it became easy to finger the presidency in the dilemma.

I am not the one to bring out the ethnicity and religion of James Faleke. His names will do. I wish he could called on Ifa though.

If APC needs help in flaming their politics of tribe and religion, they will get as many help as they want with this nonsense and ingredients that they have started.

For, the death of Audu was already a matter that created problems for the interpretations of Nigerian electoral law.

The problems would have been mild and probably manageable by sticking to Faleke and hoping that he will gather the necessary votes from the disputed ones.

Who will tell the dunces and mumus in APC that Yahaya Bello can never win the governorship election with 49 00 votes even if he claims all the votes?

When late Audu Abubakar contested with Faleke as his deputy, they had votes that counted for both of them. Is APC interpreting these votes as votes for the party and not the candidates?

Then, they should also be preparing their lawayers for the suits that will come from the PDP.

As it looks now, PDP is contesting both with Idris Wada in their official party and with Yahaya Bello on the platform of the APC. Head or tail, PDP will win the elections if they are conducted on Saturday but Bello will not be the winner.

He cannot possibly be allowed by Wada or the PDP to assume the position of the governor with less than 50 000 votes.

APC is not even gradually showing its true colours, it is doing it with speed. As soon as the party took over from Jonathan and PDP at the center, it was quick to show in the morning what Nigerians should expect for the rest of the day.

Not least is the rise of dictatorial tendencies and one-sided prosecution of persons perceived to be political enemies and adversaries.

The side-tracking of Faleke (if APC succeeds) will be a new chapter in the books of dictatorship. It is too easy for the presidency to lie and change a lot of stories in the media. This is because they have not allowed Buhari to speak to Nigeria in Nigerians.

Unless someone can prove otherwise, l have read many statements credited to Mr. Buhari when he is outside Nigerian than when he is in Abuja.

It is time to hear him speak. His opinions count. During the elections’ campaign, he hardly spoke. When does he intend to start talking and giving his opinions directly to the people and the media?

Is the APC not tired of having to change every single opinion that is credited to it or Mr. Buhari?

Some of those opinions and issues will continue to trail this administration for as long as it exists at the center.

The APC as it seems is always changing and does not seems to stand for anything. That is why it is falling apart and falling for everything.

For sure, a lot of people will want to bring party ideology which is of course nonsensical and other lines of legal implications into what is transpiring in Kogi State.

My take is that it is simply wrong and actually stupid to replace Faleke. If Audu was alive he would have re-contested with Faleke. If Audu had won, he would have been governor and Faleke is deputy. If Audu had died one week after he became governor, Faleke would have been the governor.

What we know now is that the last sentence does not hold water with APC mandate and Buhari’s rulership. Faleke could have been booted out of office, and Yahaya Bello imported from PDP to the governor’s house.

These are all hypotheses. But again, the last option is very possible with APC dictatorial tendencies as we now know.

Have we forgotten too easily how we all rallied round Goodluck Jonathan during those trying months? I do not intend to elaborate further. A word is always enough for the wise.

APC must not forget that what goes round, comes round. It is Faleke today, you will not hear it from me where this is going to come up next. But it will happen and some people will run from Cape Town to Cairo asking for sympathy and placement.

Meanwhile all these nonsense and ingredients from APC are perfect distractions from other dangerous situations in Nigeria.

The petrol scarcity is back and the eastern part of Nigeria is gradually locking up or is it down. Unemployment is on record high, crime rate hitting the roof and the standard of living digging deeper.

Where is the change?

Where do we go from here?

The Unveiling Of Africa’s Latest Tyrant?

In 6 weeks Nigerians will know if a tyrant is born or not. They will know if the military will be in charge to complete the February 7 coup

The Unveiling Of Africa’s Latest Tyrant?

Is Jonathan Africa's latest tyrant?

Is Jonathan Africa’s latest tyrant?

By Adeola Aderounmu

Nigeria in 2015 probably has a new dictator in the making. His name is Goodluck Jonathan. The man is a famous drunkard who rode on luck to become the ruler of Africa’s most populous country.

In a sane society a man so incompetent, clueless and thoughtless would not near the seat of governance. The way he and his wife have been running Nigeria is a complete disgrace to the intellectual capacity of the African minds. Mr. and Mrs Jonathan stain and embarrass Africa, greatly.

The rise of Jonathan to power will remain one of the darkest episodes in Africa’s modern history.

Trillions of dollars that could have brought prosperity to every Nigerian family are now missing and shared with a group of corrupt people who are already members of the influential 1% that owns 80% of the country’s wealth and who together continue to enslave the majority of the population.

The present ruling government, like all the previous ones before it, contains people who should be tried for crimes against humanity for rapidly spreading and escalating poverty among the majority of the population.

The problems Nigeria face today did not start with the criminal minded Jonathan and his wife but under them the situation reached a new dimension with alarming consequences.

The coming days and months will reveal the willingness of Nigerians to liberate themselves or to remain in bondage for a much longer time.

On February 14 presidential elections are supposed to hold in Nigeria. The chairman of the electoral committee stated the readiness and commitment of the electoral institution (INEC) to conduct the elections like it did 4 years ago.

Mr. Jonathan boycotted the National Assembly which has the mandate to set and adjust election dates. The National Assembly did not see the need for the delay of the polls and would have disagreed with Mr. Jonathan.

Mr. Jonathan turned to the military and staged a coup on the 7th of February 2015. The army told the world that it cannot secure 14 local governments for 2 days of election!

So the electoral committee was left with no choice but to postpone the elections.

If the army cannot protect 14 local government for 2 days, that army must be the MOST USELESS army in the history of mankind. We know what ordinary vigilante groups can do within a locality.

But that was not the truth. Mr. Jonathan was afraid of defeat at the polls. The opposition headed by a former dictator Gen. Buhari was poised for victory at the polls.

Postponing or cancelling the February polls was a décor to halt the certainty that the opposition will displace the corrupt, lazy and incompetent administration of Jonathan that continues to loot and rape the country blind.

The military taking on the function of the National Assembly in postponing the elections has invariably committed treason and carried out a coup. The coup was sponsored by Jonathan and this may mark the beginning of his reign of tyranny if Nigerians do not disengage him as soon as possible.

Six weeks from now, Boko Haram will still be in existence. There is no way Jonathan and his coup plotters can rid North Eastern Nigeria of Boko Haram in 6 weeks. Why have they not done in 6 years what they now what to do in 6 weeks? Only fools will believe the lies of the Nigerian army and Jonathan.

The most efficient way to fight terrorism or insurgency is never to give the impression of weakness. It must have taken a fool and a clueless mind to act otherwise. Cancelling the February elections is the hallmark of cowardice and lameness.

The saving grace for the February 7 coup is that the constitution was buoyant enough to absorb the adjustment. If the elections are postponed again, the constitutions will not be able to accommodate the changes and the rule of Jonathan will therefore become illegal.

If this happens, the opposition will be right to fulfil its threat of floating a parallel government. Jonathan is ready for war and that is why he has depleted the Nigerian army and equipped his militia group in the Niger Delta.

He has secretly and openly unleashed the Nigerian army on the opposition. Soldiers who should be fighting to keep the 6 weeks target intact are watching over the opposition in compliance with the orders from Africa’s latest dictator.

All the characteristics of a tyrant and a dictator are emerging from this criminal called Jonathan. He is afraid of going to jail one would think and therefore not ready to lose or hand over government to the opposition.

His loudest bulldog one Mr. Okupe said that Jonathan would rather hand over to an interim government or to the military rather than to the opposition.

In making such a statement, the camp of Jonathan already conceded defeat even before the elections. The morning shows the day.

The lazy army generals who could not protect 14 local governments for 2 days are waiting in line if all the plans of Jonathan fail.

They have already staged a coup on February 7 2015, one can assume that they are just waiting to announce a new military government in 6 weeks.

Mr. Jonathan is following a script no one has seen or heard of. He is taking his cluelessness to a new height because of the urge to remain in power at all cost. It is easy to predict that he will be put to shame soon. He is the proverbial Yoruba dog that wants to get lost totally.

I hope all the pastors who prayed for his victory at the botched February 14 2015 elections can now see that they are also fools. They were taken for a jolly ride by the clueless crook from the creek.

Nigerians are patient people. Late Fela Anikulapo was their greatest prophet ever. What did he say about suffering and smiling? What did he say about army arrangement? What did he say about missing oil money? What did he say about the pastor and his wife? What did he say about the Imam?

Mr. Jonathan is testing the waters. By now he ought to have been drowned in the test. Historically he is stretching the limits of the people’s resilience when he cancelled an election that took the electoral commission 4 years to prepare for.

What Mr. Jonathan must know is that Nigerians are not expecting a miracle from anyone who takes over the mantle of rulership from him. What is certain is that irrespective of the nature and consequences of the change, the people are poised to try it out and see where it takes them.

People are sick of his cluelessness and dumb brain.

The common voice of the majority will remain the voice of the gods. It shall prevail. If Nigeria exists after Abacha, then no one can hold the country down on his or her own terms. Never!

In 6 weeks Nigerians will know if a tyrant is born. They will know if the military will be in charge to complete the February 7 coup.

The roles of the civil society as well as the formidability of the opposition parties may determine the fate of a tyrant in the making.

If caution is thrown to the winds, all the predictions about the disintegration of Nigeria in 2015 may come to pass and history may record Jonathan as the last ruler of a unitary Nigeria. Time will tell..!
