I am sure you know that captured Boko Haram soldiers have been integrated into the Nigerian (Boko) Haram Army since 2015 or thereabout when this purposeless APC-Buhari mandate took off. The process is on-going. It is steady and constant.
If this APC-Buhari mandate persists for its’ full 8 years, several thousands of Boko Haram fighters would have been employed into the Nigerian-Boko Haram Army. In an extreme case, we have seen importation of fighters flown directly from Niger Republic into the Nigerian-Boko Haram army.
Did you see the recent video of the (ambushed) real Nigerian soldiers who were crying on video? One of them was cursing Buratai wo-ah. For your information, Buratai’s whereabout has not been reported in the last 3 weeks or so. I made enquiries and I was told he is in the bush. Really?
There was also a video about 2 months ago made by a brilliant Yoruba soldier on the war situation. He was deployed and removed from the war zone. Do you know why? Do you believe the army press release on the matter? Are you gullible?
The mathematics of this whole thing is simple.

There may come a time (if we are not even there yet) when those wearing the Nigerian army (military) outfits with Nigerian Army emblem on it will be mostly Boko Haram fighters. They are mostly foreign fighters!
I wish l could explain more. But just imagine the men in uniform all around Nigeria and all of them are former Boko Haram fighters! That idea is part of the mathematics of the Nigerian-Boko Haram Army that may emerge. It is statistically possible.
If you think that all these manipulations are done in the name of one Nigeria where equality and justice reign, you are on a long thing. You are brain dead. Your domination is total.
Right now, Nigerian may have fallen already. Politicians don’t care. They tag along, they play along. I think the cabals holding Nigeria got you where they want you. They know you will be praying about it, whereas action is known to produce effects that are 100% more efficient than prayers.
We have been writing for a long time about freedom. It won’t be served on a platter of gold. With the dimension of what we see/know today, it appears freedom, still not given on a platter of gold, may come with very dire consequences. Do you know why mercenaries are imported through the north and dispersed to various parts of Nigeria in recent weeks?
A few things are obvious and undeniable. Nigeria lacks leadership/rulership at this moment. The country is swinging right, left and center courtesy of daily synchronized press releases and pictures from Abuja. The special assistants in Aso rock are the faces of unseen forces holding down about 200 m people. Foreign interests remain intact, so far. No shakings in that area.
The politicians are stealing, looting, re-looting and massively emptying what is left in Nigeria. You are experiencing the most useless government on the face of the planet. You are a living witness to the most useless government ever in the history of humanity. You are part of history!
Who is going to ask the people in charge of Nigeria why Boko Haram or foreign soldiers are offered automatic employment into the Nigerian Army? Who are we going to ask? Where is Buratai? Where is Osinbajo? Where is Buhari?
Fow how long will Nigerians be ruled by press releases and photos from Abuja? How long will this last?

There is a lot of massacre going on in Nigeria. The people of Nigeria need to react and start nationwide protests (where/if necessary). The rest of the world should stop acting dumb and deaf. All the groups that are under siege depending on their ethnicity and religion need to start defending themselves properly. In some situations, we have seen Christians (and non-Christians) massacred senselessly, and I think it is about time they took up arms and defend themselves. If you defend yourself, you can live to tell the story. If you do not defend yourself, other people will tell your story and they will not tell the true story.
The terrorists are enjoying massive support and logistics from the APC government.
The terrorist activities of Boko Haram are well documented. They are controlling a substantial part of northern Nigeria, probably up to 15% or more. When Buhari said in 2015, through his minister of information, one notorious liar called Lai Mohammed, that Boko Haram had been technically defeated, (false) optimism was raised.
Today, in 2019, Boko Haram is one of the deadliest terrorist groups in the word having free movements and free flow of arms and weaponry into Nigeria through the undefined and unprotected borders. The Nigerian army has been severely disgraced and defeated several times by the terrorists.
But the rage of genocide in Nigeria under the watch of Buhari has grown massive tentacles.
Rather than label all terrorists as terrorists, the Buhari government developed fanciful and distractive names for them. Names like bandits and Fulani herdsmen have emerged. Even Miyeti Allah.
In reality these are all terrorist organizations and they found great fertility under the APC-Buhari mandate since 2015. Nigeria is in a serious soup as the jihadist movements expanded greatly in the last 4 years. Several communities in the middle belt of Nigeria that were originally occupied by predominantly Christians have been sacked and transformed to Islamic communities. In extreme situations, the names of some communities have changed.
Under Buhari, several communities have been wiped away or displaced and the level of outrage has been disappointing. Several reasons can be responsible for this muted acceptance or state of silence locally and internationally. But the evil cannot be swept away under the carpets, not for long though.
In Nigeria, the government has been so irresponsible that in the eyes of the people, there is no government. Since the existence of the people have been reduced to survival of the fittest, there are no more outrages as people’s state of mind have returned to the barbaric stone age.
When Buhari said in 2015, through his minister of information, one notorious liar called Lai Mohammed, that Boko Haram had been technically defeated, (false) optimism was raised.
So it’s like the acronym, all man to himself and [God] for us all. But this is sad, that the security of lives and property lost its nomenclature and became nationally declassified.
As it is in Nigeria today, staying alive is a miracle and no longer a right. I will not be able to highlight all the atrocities and anomalies that terminate lives daily in Nigeria. But the recent (2019) elections where several lives were lost because invariably the elections became a show of force and in some cases an open war between the ruling party and the oppositions, tell a lot.
The police brutality, the army brutality, the road accidents, the collapse of buildings, kidnapping, assassinations, daylight murders, cult wars, and several vices that ought to be abominable and condemnable have disrupted the normal psyche of the average Nigerian. Fighting for one’s personal survival have become the first law of living in Nigeria.
So, if Boko Haram razed down a whole community in Maiduguri or if Fulani Herdsmen shot dead 50 people in Plateau including pregnant women and children, the people in Ogun State will go to church and give thanksgiving that they are alive. But now the genocide has moved south and the people of Ogun are also bracing for the murders ahead.
Quite undeterred, the terrorists either as Boko Haram or Miyetti Allha will continue with their Islamic agenda, razing down one community after the other. Some states like Benue are worst hit! The people who have not been hit are still giving thanks. Soon they will learn to take arms to defend themselves. That is the only way to survive a terrorist situation when the government appears to be the sponsor.
Soon, Nigerians will know that staying alive is not about being at the right place at the tight time or the wrong place at the wrong time. Staying alive when the government is in support of terrorism will soon become a regional battle and the breakup of Nigeria may become inevitable, unless the APC- led government of Buhari and Osinbajo stop the herdsmen and BH.
Over the years, education has been truncated. I mean public education where it should be compulsory and basic. More than 15 million Nigerian children may be out of school. In government, criminals are over represented making the case for education less attractive. Buhari is not educated and so are several persons across Nigeria occupying sensitive and public positions. People of low mentalities, sometime zero mentalities are leading Nigeria to the gutters.
Today the security of Nigeria is heavily tilted, with nearly all the service chiefs from the core north of Nigeria. Buhari is the most dangerous nepotic person alive in the world today. The ruling party is a sham and a complete disgrace to humanity and the case for freedom, democracy and development of the human mind. Rather than wage a war of terrorism, the service chiefs are getting fatter on contracts of weapons that never buy. They are building and buying properties in Dubai. This country, Nigeria, is cursed from beyond!
Where do we go from here?
Buhari needs to be stopped. He can’t rule Nigeria for the next 4years. In terms of security and the protection of life and property, which is the first duty of any government, this APC government is not working. The people of Algeria recently forced their president to resign totally from politics. The same fate should be meted to a man as incompetent as Buhari.
The terrorists masquerading as herdsmen must be stopped. They are not herdsmen if they carry weapons. They are not herdsmen if they can re-group at short notice and overtake other people’s communities at will. This is Jihad. The Nigerian Christians must equip their people and churches to resist further Jihadist expansion. They must fight to reclaim the stolen lands and villages. Beyond religion, every ethnic group in Nigeria owes it to their ancestors and future generations to protect their heritage and future. These are non-negotiable acts of existence.
The people of Nigeria need to renegotiate their collective existence. That is the best way to get rid of Boko Haram totally. When the problem becomes the problem only of the North, l am sure they will strategize to either defeat Boko Haram or incorporate the organization as its legal army. This cat and mouse game must end someway. It should not cost the East, West or South a dime. The Northern elites invented Boko Haram the same way the Southern elites invented the militants. In a separate and self-determining system, every region would either deal with its problem or perish with them
All these stupid talks about weapons from Libya would be stopped if the North is going to be consumed by it. But when it is used as an expansionist agenda to take over the middle belts and probably subdue the rest of Nigeria under a unitary system of government, the north care less. When we are separate, we will be readier to defend out territories.
But before then, from now, the rest of Nigeria needs to take up arms to defend itself because the BUHARI government is not going to do that. It has never done that, it will never do it.
There are many ways and many opinions on these issues and of course many think that Nigeria should remain as one country. But if you have tried something from 1966 to 2019 and it didn’t work, what is the probability that it will ever work? As a mathematician and a scientist, my opinion is that both empirical and practical issues must go hand in hand and for Nigeria the outcome of a unitary system of government remains a disaster.
It is time to renegotiate Nigeria, peacefully. The jihadist movement will not work. It did not work before, it will not work now or in the future. And when the dust is settled, Nigerians must make haste to prosecute all the military men under whose watch genocide have been perpetrated unabated. You know them, we know them.

This weekend l looked at the headlines as l have always done. In fact l usually look at the headlines during the week as well. This way l am in touch with happenings and events not only in Nigeria but also around the world.
If you are a columnist or a blogger there is never a deficiency in what can trigger your opinion for your weekly essay or regular write-ups.
For sometime now l have also been thinking about the possibility of travelling to Nigeria for the first time since 2010. This has affected my mood, my disposition and my thoughts in no small way.
When l’d travel to Nigeria as l have done from time to time since 2002 when l first left Nigeria straight to Sweden, it had always been with mixed feelings. Partly, l am happy to see my families and friends again. On the other hand l am sad because l am reminded of the life of poverty that l always return to.
As far as Nigeria is concern, l am still a man living in poverty. I have written many times that becoming a member of the Nigerian family in diapora is not an escape from the poverty that stare at you in the face in Nigeria.
If one lives well abroad or even in Nigeria and pretends to be immune to the intensity and spread of social, infrastructure and material poverty in Nigeria, then one is heartless.
Personally I have never seen living in Sweden as an escape from the life of poverty that l know in Nigeria. It will not matter how long l live in Sweden. l have come to realise that l cannot dissociate myself easily from the several millions of Nigerians still struggling to live on less than 25 dollars a month or nothing at all.
Today l just need to purge my random thoughts, my november blues out of my mind. That way, l become free and my soul is set free.
This happens because there are so many things running through my mind at the same time to the extent that l doubt if l could say l slept well this outgoing week.
When l’d thought about my future trip to Nigeria l am so sad that the people that l know have become fewer in number. One of the laws of nature catches up with us as we grow older-the old and sick dying and newborns emerging.
My mother will not be there amongst those who l want to fondly remember. There are so many others that will be missing and l will not indulge myself in writing about those who went too soon. In almost all the situations where death has cheated me, l realized that the causes are either related to poverty or direct failure of governance.
But l refuse to elaborate further on those who have been taken away from me because of the rat race existence in Nigeria. I will let the tears l’ve shed wash my sorrows away.
There are so many reasons l write regularly, mostly about Nigeria.
One day someone who had been close to me during my adolescence commented on one of my essays: Adeola may you live to see the Nigeria of your dreams.
I think she aptly captured the essence of my essays. She is probably one of those who realised that l could have gone on to live a quiet life like millions of Nigeria living abroad. Those who write genuinely about the socio-political problems in Nigeria have no obligations to do so. It must be the love in their hearts.
My friend’s comment meant that she has been reading a substantial part of my essays where l refused to give up on living a good life in Nigeria. True, that Nigeria where things are normal and work as they should remains in my dreams.
To some people writing about Nigeria and your frustrations about the criminals ruling Nigeria means that you have an agenda, most likely that you have a political ambition that will make you become one of the criminals in government.
Must everyone steal/loot in government? Most people answered: YES.
That aspect saddens me.
In any case, for a country with more than 150 m people having unlimited natural resources and extreme diversity of languages, culture and heritage, there is a need for more voices and opinions from reasonable and selfless people.
This is urgent because a critical analysis of the Nigerian mindset based on the evolution of the social media and in fact conversations with ordinary people one meets leave a lot to be desired. Usually l am easily devastated by the urge of many more Nigerians to participate in politics because they want to become criminals like their fathers, mothers, uncles, friends and neighbours.
Who is going to bring about the Nigeria of my dreams?
Who is happy that several millions of Nigerians remain in absolute poverty living from hand to mouth? Who is happy that their brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers are placed on minimum poverty wage of N18k per month? Who is happy that unemployed people may receive N5k per month as poverty unemployment allowance?
Is it not in the same country where some people stole several billions of dollars and remain free men and women? Is it not in the same country where a few men and women called politicians and their counterparts in the military have access to unlimited funds that they can loot, steal and divert for personal uses?
What is security vote? Nobody is even looking at that anymore. I heard it is several billions of naira given to a governor to provide security for the state he/she governs. I heard the governor does not have to give an account of the state’s security votes. Really?
So a governor can divert security vote to his personal account for 8 years and get away with it just like that. Is this why insecurity is one of the biggest problems in Nigeria?
This country Nigeria is a country built on destructive tendencies in all ramifications!
So the story of a failed country goes on.
The senators are still earning as much as possible doing almost nothing. Sometimes they shout YA or NAY and millions of naira get wired to their accounts. Just like that! Then, they will decide one day to give 5 thousand naira to unemployed graduates. What a fantastic mess? Absolute rubbish and senselessness!
Ministers will finally emerge in the mid-November blues and they are mainly the same old suspects of corruption from the APC or the old PDP converts.
Then the judiciary and the presidency will play the probe game back and forth. They will decide who can be probed or not. Listen! Probe Jonathan! We can’t probe Obasanjo..! We can’t probe Babangida..! Abacha was not corrupt..!
Each government continues to blame the previous administration instead of hitting the ground appropriately to work. The story of Nigeria is a sad story of cyclic idiocy.
I am just wondering.
What can be the worst outcome if Nigerians storm the streets across the country and ask for the sack of all the federal and state senators and legislators and then place them on N5 000 a month until they find new jobs?
On the proposed N5k for unemployed people, my take is that rather embarking on such a disgraceful and dehumaninzing gesture, the government of Nigeria (at all levels) should double their efforts and committments to alleviating the suffering in the land.
There are what we call short-term plans and long-term plans.
Some short-term plans are achievable within 12 calender months when sense is applied. But when you spent more than 6 months to form a common cabinet or executive at state and federal levels, then it doesn’t make sense anymore. It means you are happy with your election or emergence and the people can go to hell!
I think 100% of the unemployed people will be happy to donate their proposed poverty stipends of N5 000 to the motherless babies home if for example electricity is constant in Nigeria say from January 2016 and for ever more.
With a common infrastrucure as electricity many of the unemployed people will become gainfully employed by either engaging in private businesses or becoming absorbed by organisations and enterprises whose monthy profits are mainly used to provide power and other avoidable costs of running businesses.
Even the olden days agricultural development and settlement schemes of western Nigeria availed much. The blueprints must still be somewhere!
There are endless suggestions on either side of the take.
Long-term plan means tacking the fundamental issues that not only affect the political instability in Nigeria but also addressing the economic and development implications at the same time.
The Boko Haram war, the new face of Biafran uprising and the endless agitations in the South-West and in the Niger-Delta will not go away simply because President Buhari has a military background. You can’t purge away these uprisings and wars by a wave of the hand. Agidi o ran!
Boko Haram was underestimated, see where it is heading. Now people are wishing Biafra a sudden death..! what a pity!
That is why referendum exists.
Nigeria needs one now before the country explodes fully.
At this moment, the most reasonable way will be for Nigerian politicians to eschew their selfishness and adopt regional government as quickly as possible. It will not solve all the problems but it will a bold step in the right direction.

The two major political parties in Nigeria ought to be ashamed of their presidential election campaigns so far.
I have seen and listened to many political campaigns in Nigeria and this year’s campaign is the worst ever.
The bigger culprit here is the lazy ruling party popularly called PDP. A ruling party is supposed to be flaunting its achievements while making concrete plans for the future. But here we have a party that is like a sinking ship ridiculously campaigning like it is looking for power for the first time.
The PDP started a mudslinging campaign and took it too far as the election date approaches. No doubt the indolent and largely purposeless government led by Mr. Goodluck Jonathan is probably the most corrupt government in the world today. The cluelessness of Jonathan has shown no limit on his campaign trail.
Sadly too the APC could not hold back and some of its agents have produced a lot of campaign videos that still does not prove how the APC intend to be the change that Nigeria and Nigerians deserve. With several dropouts and losers from the other political parties flocking to APC, it is hard to see any change in sight.
It appears the change people are clamoring for is just to get a clueless government out of the way. But the opposition can do better.
It is about 2 weeks to the presidential election and Nigerians are yet to be told how the economy will be boosted in the face of the global decline in the price of crude oil. Jonathan made more than 200 promises during the 2010/2011 campaign year. Almost all of them were thrashed as soon as he began to drink at the presidential villa.
The economy has suffered and massive funds have been looted from the treasuries under the supervision of Goodluck Jonathan, his central bank governors and his minister of finance. This stealing and looting predate Jonathan definitely.
Indeed, I stand on the side of those who reject the World Bank report or the CNN evaluation of Nigerian economy. More Nigerians have slipped into the poverty zone and more Nigerians are unemployed and several thousands of them were even duped by Mr. Jonathan and Mr. Abba Moro. A few were killed during the duping process otherwise known as the Immigration employment scam.
A way to measure a growing economy will be making good use of the employment indices, the quality of life of majority of the citizens and the overall decline in the percentage of people living from hand to mouth among other factors.
Until these begin to happen one cannot appreciate economic growth on paper or assume that the prosperity of those who buy jets from looted crude oil proceeds represents the growth of a country. It is wickedness to summarize the well-being of 1% of Nigerians who own 80% of the country’s wealth as the mark of an economy that is growing.
The PDP we now know thrives on deceit and lies. The APC ought to seize the opportunity and present a formidable option on the economic front. It is not enough to call the PDP corrupt because the APC is also loaded with corrupt politicians as well as political prostitutes.
Political campaign in Nigeria is mostly gibberish, if not outright rubbish.
In actual fact what ought to be sold during this season of campaign is what the political parties stand for and not just what Jonathan or Buhari are as individuals. On personality levels, Nigerians deserve better than a drunkard or a dictator.
Indeed the personality of the persons leading a political group is important but the fundamental issues that govern the operations, prospects and plans of the political parties for the country should be paramount.
For life can come with unexpected situations. If Jonathan or Buhari for one reason or the other become unfit or unwell to stand for elections on February 14, it is the party’s politics that should bear on the electorates and not just the personality of the number one person in line to the presidency. It’s a huge risky to put persons before institutions.
Therefore rather than selling people during elections, it would have been nice to tell how the two political parties intend to further diversify the Nigerian economy. How do they intend to stop the Chinese from looting and carting away Nigeria’s precious mineral resources?
How do they intend to stop bringing criminals as ministers who will sell the treasuries of the land for a token that they even loot? How does APC or PDP intend to break this jinx that has turned the blessings of Nigerians into curses?
Where are the blueprints on how to help the North to recover its groundnut pyramids? How will Western Nigeria become the hub for cocoa and oil palm production again so that exportation can improve and promote the economy?
What about cassava in the East? Where can l go to read about the plans that the political parties have made in this respect? Why should almost everything be based on crude oil?
Which recordings from any of the campaign trail can I watch to see and hear Buhari’s plan according to the APC manifesto? All the posters about free food, free education and sudden miracles manufactured by internet warriors on behalf of the APC don’t do it.
Where can I access the blueprint that lazy and corrupt Jonathan has been trying hard to implement for the past 6 years?
Have I missed the discussion on cutting executive recklessness and financial wastages?
Common and ordinary citizens are to survive on a meagre monthly minimum wage of N18 000 per month. That disgraceful amount is a clear contradiction to what a growing economy would pay her citizens.
Ideally such an amount of money is what a family of four can budget to spend in a day if the costs of feeding, transportation, clothing and leisure activities are taken into consideration.
More than 90% of Nigerians live below the poverty level. The people may be resilient but that does not take away the permanent life of poverty that they are confined to.
In the same country some heartless people called politicians earn the biggest political salaries in the world. A lot of unnecessary funds and bonuses are allocated to Nigerian politicians at the local, state and federal levels that amount to direct stealing and official looting of the treasury.
To make the matter worse Nigerian politicians are mostly crooks still finding other means to award contracts, steal contract funds, set up committees upon committees and all sorts of malicious mechanisms aimed solely for self-enrichment.
Both the PDP and the APC have not mentioned how to cut on the financial wastages and leakages across all tiers of governance.
How do they want to make the take home pay of the politicians comparable to the salaries of ordinary Nigerians? Or how do they want to ensure that Nigerians who are employed or unemployed do not become criminals because they want to make ends meet? In short, how do the political parties intend to bridge this extreme social and economic injustice?
One area of public service in the hands of the mafia in Nigeria is the energy sector. The federal government has failed woefully to provide constant power supply in Nigeria.
Nigeria is reputed to have the worst power supply system in the world. Goodluck Jonathan stated clearly that nobody should take him seriously for re-election in 2015 if he cannot provide electricity after 4 years.
The energy sector is just one out of the several unfulfilled promises. Yet Mr. Jonathan finds the courage to live with this shame and still go around making more promises. What has happened to men who keep their words?
Mr. Jonathan lied to the world through the CNN that electricity has improved in Lagos and other cities across Nigeria. What a guy!
The PDP as a political party in charge of governance since 1999 when pseudo-democracy was returned to Nigeria has failed in this aspect. Under Obasanjo, Yar Adua and Jonathan several billions of naira have been looted with no results to show. Nigeria remains the darkest country in the world.
No arrests have been made for the monies that disappeared under Obasanjo and Jonathan which leaves both rulers as partners in crimes against the people of Nigeria.
The Ministry of Finance cannot account for the funds pumped into this adventure that yield no light. Instead more darkness came to Nigeria and the sales of generators by the energy mafia group of companies continue to skyrocket.
The PDP does not need to present any new plan on energy and power generation because for 16 years all its plans have produced more darkness than light.
The APC has refused to provide a clear blueprint on how it intends to rectify this nonsense. No one knows how APC intend to transform the darkness in Nigeria to light. If it is on paper, l think people will like to hear it at a campaign by the person in charge of energy development in the APC camp.
What about security? The PDP government is not discussing much about security on its campaign trail because Goodluck Jonathan the lazy president has failed woefully. His army is in a tattered form. One wonders who is in control of the army. Is it Boko Haram or Olukayode or Jonathan?
But security is a big deal. Insecurity usually ends with civil war. By now 15% of Nigerian territory is in the hands of terrorists. This is shameful and scandalous!
Terrorists have bloomed under Goodluck Jonathan. In the beginning he was mouthy and promised to root them out because he said they are part of his government. Four years on Goodluck Jonathan continued to dine and wine with Boko Haram members in his government.
The PDP government has stated that the opposition, the APC, is behind the terror group based in Northern Nigeria. This statement is careless and senseless because what good governments do around the world is to arrest terrorists and their sponsors. After all these allegations against the opposition Goodluck Jonathan has not made or ordered any arrest within the opposition camp.
Ali Modu Sheriff is known all over the world to have massively sponsored Boko Haram especially during the 2003 elections. He openly made use of Boko Haram to suppress and oppress his opponents while vying for the governorship office. Ali Modu Sheriff is one of Jonathan’s best friends.
Without dwelling much on the terrorists in the Niger Delta creeks, isn’t it astonishing that they are also mostly friends of Mr. Goodluck Jonathan?
Anyway, the APC is boasting that it will stop Boko Haram. How? What will the APC do differently? By the way that brings a curious issue to the front. When the opposition says that it has the solutions to Boko Haram’s war, why have the solutions not be presented at the national assembly by APC legislators, even if the presentation is not made public for security reasons?
What I meant is that the opposition in a normal society is also part of governance and where the ruling party fails; the oppositions can apply their options through debate and national assembly decisions. The ruling government and the opposition parties are always supposed to work together. But Nigeria is no ordinary country where the winner takes it all.
Today, Nigeria is not a secured country and anybody can be killed or blown to pieces by suicide bombers or shot by Boko Haram group that continue to attack military installations, different residential communities, churches, mosques and schools.
The electorates should have asked the APC how it would tackle the menace of Boko Haram. They should ask whether these strategies have been presented to the ruling party before the situation deteriorated to what it looks like today.
Security of life and property is part of the issues for campaigns or plane level debates. Like power supply, the issue of security is also important when looking at the factors that affect the economic growth of a country.
